  1. 1 lb White fish fillets (sole, Salt and red (cayenne)

  2. pepper to taste

  3. 1 Egg yolk, beaten

  4. 2 tb Lemon juice

  5. 3/4 c Garbanzo bean flour

  6. 1 tb Ground coriander

  7. 1/2 c Water

  8. Mint sprigs

  9. 2 c Fresh white bread crumbs

  10. grated 1 Inch piece fresh gingerroot, cod or whiting)

  11. 6 oz Cooked peeled shrimp, chopped

  12. 4 Green onions, chopped

  13. 1/4 c Vegetable oil

  14. 2 tb Chopped cilantro

  15. coriander)

  16. 1 tb Chopped fresh mint

  17. Lemon slices for garnish

  1. Remove any skin and bones from fish, rinse and pat dry with paper towels.

  2. Mince fish, then transfer to a bowl.

  3. Stir in shrimp, green onions, gingerroot, cilantro, mint, 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs, salt and cayenne.

  4. Add egg yolk and lemon juice; mix well.

  5. Divide mixture into 16 equal portions and form into 1/2-inch thick rounds.

  6. Roll patties in remaining bread crumbs to coat completely.

  7. Put flour, coriander, salt and cayenne in a small bowl; add water and mix to a smooth batter.

  8. Heat oil in a skillet.

  9. Dip patties in batter; fry 2 to 3 minutes on each side until golden brown.

  10. Drain on paper towels and serve hot, garnished with mint and lemon slices.
