  1. 1 lb. ground beef or ground lamb

  2. 1/2 lb. of ground Italian sausage (Owen's Italian sausage is good)

  3. 5-8 minced garlic cloves

  4. 1 large can crushed tomato es

  5. 1 small can tomato paste (Italian seasoning)

  6. 2 small cans tomato sauce

  7. 8 oz. water

  8. 14 large lasagna noodles

  9. 3 cups cottage cheese

  10. 1 lb. shredded mozzarella cheese

  11. 3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

  12. 2 egg s

  13. 1 tbsp. basil

  14. 1 tsp. salt

  15. 1/4 tsp. pepper

  16. 2 tbsp. dried parsley

  17. 3 tbsp. olive oil

  1. Brown meat and sausage; drain off fat, and add olive oil and garlic; sauté 5-7 minutes Add all canned tomato products and water and spices, except NOT the parsley While browning the meat; cook the lasagna noodles, but not fully cooked In another bowl mix together the cottage cheese, parmesan cheese, eggs, and parsley and mix well Drain water off of lasagna noodles and fill pot with cold water so lasagna stops cooking and they are not too hot to handle In a large baking pan (12 x 17 inches) you will make 3 layers of the following: Cover bottom of baking pan with a layer of noodles Use ⅓ of cottage cheese mixture and spread over noodles Use ⅓ of mozzarella and sprinkle over cottage cheese mixture Use ⅓ of meat sauce and spread over mozzarella cheese Repeat above two more times Bake for 30 minutes at 375 degrees Let sit for about 15 minutes before cutting and eating
