  1. 1 c Butter

  2. 2 1/2 c Flour

  3. 1 1/2 c Sugar

  4. 2 Eggs

  5. 1 oz Red food coloring

  6. 1 ts Water

  7. 2 ts Cocoa

  8. 1 ts Salt; scant

  9. 1 ts Baking soda

  10. 1 ts Vanilla

  11. 1 c Buttermilk

  12. 1 ts Vinegar

  13. 2 9-inch cake pans. Bake at

  14. 350F for about 30 minutes.

  15. 8 oz cream cheese, at room temperature

  16. 1/2 stick (1/4 cup)

  17. 2 c confectioneres' sugar, sifted if lumpy

  18. 1 tsp vanilla extract Combine the cream cheese, butter,

  19. confectioners' sugar and vanilla in a mixing bowl. Beat well, or process until perfectly smooth and spreadable. You will have enough to fill and frost cake. --
