  1. 4 pumpkins , such as ÂÂ"Small SugarÂÂ" or ÂÂ"Little BooÂÂ"

  2. 4 teaspoon(s) butter or margarine

  3. 1/8 teaspoon(s) salt

  4. pinch(s) ground black pepper

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Create a lid for each pumpkin by cutting a hole in the top, about 1 inch around the stem; remove seeds. Place one-fourth of butter, salt and pepper in each cavity. Top with lids. Place pumpkins on a jelly-roll pan.

  2. Roast until tender, about 45 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes before serving. Serve with spoons to scoop out the flesh.
