  1. 2 c All-purpose flour*

  2. 1 c Sugar

  3. 2 ts Baking powder

  4. 3/4c Margarine or butter,

  5. Melted and cooled

  6. 1 tb Anise extract or Vanilla

  7. 4 Eggs, slightly beaten

  1. + if using self-rising flour Omit baking powder.

  2. You can also use a krumkake iron to make these crisp Italian cookies.

  3. Grease pizzelle iron.

  4. Heat pizzelle iron according to manufacturer's directions.

  5. Mix all ingredients.

  6. Drop 1 tablespoon batter onto heated pizzelle iron and close iron.

  7. Bake about 30 seconds or until golden brown.

  8. Carefully remove pizzelle from iron; cool.

  9. Repeat with remaining batter.

  10. ABOUT 3-1/2 DOZEN COOKIES; 75 CALORIES PER COOKIE.
