  1. 1/4 cup olive oil

  2. 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar

  3. 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme leaves

  4. 3 large portobello mushrooms, stems and gills removed

  5. 1 medium onion, thinly sliced

  6. Carr's Table Water Crackers with Cracked Pepper

  7. 3/4 cup shredded Gruyere cheese

  1. In small bowl whisk together oil, vinegar and thyme. Brush both sides of mushrooms with oil mixture. In large nonstick frypan cook mushrooms over medium-high heat until tender, turning once. Remove from frypan.

  2. In same frypan cook onion over medium heat until beginning to brown, stirring frequently.

  3. Cut mushrooms into 1 1/2-inch pieces. Top each cracker with mushroom piece, some onion and some cheese. Place on baking sheet. Broil 4- to 5-inches from heat about 1 minute or until cheese melts.
