  6. 2 c Flour -- all purpose

  7. 2 ts Baking powder

  8. 1/4 c Currants

  9. 1/2 c Almonds -- ground

  10. 2 ts Anise seeds

  11. 1 c Sugar

  12. 1/2 ts Cinnamon

  13. 5/8 c Butter -- melted or 10 Tbsp

  14. 1 Eggs -- beaten

  15. Preheat oven to 400F. Mix together flour, baking powder, currants, almonds,

  16. anise seeds, sugar and cinnamon. Add cooled melted butter and egg, stir to

  17. form soft dough. Pinch off walnut sized pieces, roll into balls, and place

  18. on ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten with fork to make crisscross pattern

  19. 400F oven for 10 to 12 minutes or till lightly

  20. browned. Cool on wire rack. Yield: 2 1/2 dozen - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
