  1. 1 cup sugar

  2. 1 cup packed brown sugar

  3. 2 Tbsp. Karo syrup

  4. 1/2 cup cream or evaporated milk

  5. 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar Dash of salt

  6. 1/4 stick butter

  7. 2 cup pecans

  1. C ombine sugars, syrup, cream, cream or tartar, salt and butter; boil to soft-ball stage. Remove from heat; beat for 2 minutes. Cool for 15 minutes. Beat again 10 times; add pecans. Drop onto waxed paper. Add small amount of hot water if candy gets too hard. Makes 16 pieces.
