  2. WHITE AND WILD RICE STUFFING - COUNTRY LIVING

  6. 1/4 c (1/2 stick) butter or -margarine

  7. 1 1/2 c Uncooked wild rice, rinsed

  8. 1/2 c Chopped celery

  9. 5 1/2 c Water

  10. 1 13-3/4 or 14-oz can -chicken broth

  11. 1 Bay leaf

  12. 1 t Salt

  13. 1 t Dried oregano leaves

  14. 1/4 ts Ground black pepper

  15. 1 1/2 c Uncooked long-grain

  16. -white rice

  17. 1 c Chopped, unpeeled red

  18. -apple

  19. 1/2 c Chopped green onions

  20. 1. In heavy 4-quart saucepan or Dutch oven, heat

  21. butter. Add wild rice and celery. Saute until lightly

  22. browned. Add water, broth, bay leaf, salt, oregano,

  23. and pepper to saucepan. Heat to boiling; cover and cook over low heat 25 minutes.

  24. 2. Stir white rice into wild rice; cook, covered,

  25. until rice is tender- about 20 minutes longer. Fold in

  26. appie and green onions.

  27. 3. Set stuffing aside just until cool enough to stuff

  28. neck and body cavities of turkey. Or spoon into 2 1/2-quart casserole; cover and bake at

  29. about 20 minutes or until apples are tender.
