  2. BABY DOE'S MINE BEER CHEESE SOUP

  6. 8 c Milk

  7. 2 ts Tabasco sauce

  8. 4 ts Worcestershire sauce

  9. 4 tb Chicken base

  10. 16 oz Cheeze Whiz

  11. 6 tb Cornstarch

  12. 1/3 c Water

  13. 1 c Beer

  14. 1/8 ts MSG (I did not use)

  15. Cayenne pepper

  16. Combine milk, Tabasco, Worcestershire, chicken base, &

  17. MSG. Bring to a boil, stirring regularly.

  18. Add Cheeze Whiz, after warming in hot water or in

  19. microwave. Mix in well.

  20. Dissolve cornstarch completely in the water. Add to

  21. soup, which should thicken immediately. Reduce heat a

  22. bit and stir in beer.

  23. To serve, ladle into bowls and dust with cayenne

  24. pepper.

  25. *Chicken base can be found in the spice section. I

  26. used Schilling's Chicken Flavor Base. Spice Islands

  27. also has a product called Chicken Flavor Stock Base

  28. that is probably the same thing.

  29. I would like to give credit to Scott Hammon, whose

  30. extra efforts succeeded in wrangling this recipe from

  31. Baby Doe's chef. Since it's been many years since I

  32. sampled this soup at the restaurant in Dallas, I can't

  33. judge how closely this approximates the original. But

  34. at least the results are tasty! Hope all who try it

  35. will enjoy it.
