  2. 1 8 oz. package of softened cream cheese

  3. 16 Wonton Wrappers

  4. Peanut Oil for Frying

  5. Your favorite dipping sauces

  1. Preparation :

  2. Heat oil in a deep fryer or pour into a large frying pan at high temperature. Peanut oil provides a crispier wonton.

  3. While the oil is heating, lay out the Wonton wrappers you will be using Keep a small bowl of water for wetting your fingers with.

  4. Put a small amount of cream cheese in one corner of each wrapper, about 1/2 inch from the edges. Use about 1-2 teaspoons.

  5. Wet the two edges nearest the cream cheese with your fingers, then fold the other half over and seal the edges into a triangle.

  6. Seal the edges tightly, try pressing down on the edges with a fork, leaving small openings at the corners so the they will not expand and burst open.

  7. Add several wontons into the hot oil at a time. Flip them over when you see the edges turning brown and cook for a while longer.

  8. Put on paper towels to drain, then serve with dipping sauce.
