  7. 1 c Flour (all purpose)

  8. 1 pn Salt

  9. 1 pn Baking soda

  10. 6 tb Butter/oleo

  11. 1/2 c Water

  12. 1/2 c Coconut, fresh and shredded

  13. 2 tb Almonds, blanched

  14. 1 c Cream of wheat

  15. 1 c Sugar

  16. 10 Cordamom pods

  17. 2 tb Raisins

  18. Vegetable oil for deep fryng

  19. Sift flour, salt and baking soda together. Rub in 2

  20. tb butter/oleo. Prepare a stiff dough with some water,

  21. about 1/2 cup. Set aside.

  22. To prepare the pastry filling, heat remaining

  23. butter/oleo in a skillet. Add coconut, almonds and cream of wheat. Cook until mixture is golden.

  24. Remove seeds from the 10 cardamom pods.

  25. Add sugar, cardamom seeds and raisins. Cook until

  26. 5 to 7 mins.

  27. Divide dough into 12 equal portions. Roll each portion into a 4-in round. Place some filling on half

  28. of the round, leaving 1/4 inch border around the edge.

  29. Fold the other half over the mixture and seal edges

  30. completely.

  31. Heat vegetables oil for deep frying. Fry the
