  1. 1/2 cup 80g / 2.8oz Rice

  2. 4 cups 948ml Milk

  3. 1/4 cup 40g / 1.4oz Raisins

  4. 3/4 cup 148g / 5 1/5oz Sugar - up to

  5. 1 teaspoon 5ml Cardamom seeds

  6. 1/4 cup 23g / 0.8oz Shredded blanched almonds

  7. 8 Rose water

  8. 1/2 cup 118ml Water

  1. Wash and drain the rice. Soak in 1/2 c water for 1/2 hour. Boil the rice in the same water until it is coated and the water dries up. Add the milk and simmer on low heat for 1 1/2 hours.

  2. Scrape the sides and bottom frequently to prevent sticking and mash rice while stirring. When it is creamy, add sugar and stir in well. Remove from heat and add crushed cardamom seeds, rose water and shredded almonds.

  3. Serve hot or cold decorated with silver leaves (optional). [Silver leaves are VERY FINE, tasteless sheets of silver.]
