  2. Dr. Pepper Cake

  5. 1 cup margarine

  6. 1 cup Dr. Pepper

  7. 4 tablespoons cocoa

  8. 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon

  9. 3 cups flour -- sifted

  10. 2 cups sugar

  11. 1/2 teaspoon salt

  12. 2 eggs -- well beaten

  13. 1/2 cup buttermilk

  14. 1 teaspoon baking soda

  15. --DR. PEPPER FROSTING--

  16. 1/2 cup Dr. Pepper

  17. 1/4 cup margarine

  18. 3 table spoons cocoa

  19. 3 cups powdered sugar -- sifted

  20. 1/2 cup pecans -- chopped

  21. 1 teaspoon vanilla

  22. Heat Dr. Pepper with margarine, but do not boil. Set aside. Sift together

  23. flour, sugar, cinnamon, salt, and cocoa. Beat together eggs, buttermilk,

  24. vanilla, and baking soda. Add hot Dr. Pepper mixture to dry ingredients.

  25. Stir in egg mixture, and blend well. Pour into greased and floured

  26. 15x10-inch sheet cake pan. Bake at

  27. 350 deg. for 25 minutes.

  28. For frosting: About 5 minutes before cake is done, heat Dr. Pepper,

  29. margarine, and cocoa. Stir in powdered sugar, pecans, and vanilla. Spread

  30. frosting on while cake is still hot.
