  1. 3/4 cup butter (NO substitutes)

  2. 4-5 cups powdered sugar

  3. 4-5 Tbsp. apple juice

  4. 2-4 Tbsp. half and half 1 tsp. vanilla

  1. In a small heavy saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Then continue to cook butter, watching constantly, until the butter turns a light golden brown color, about 6-8 minutes. Stir constantly while the butter browns. Remove from heat and let cool.

  2. Combine cooled butter, powdered sugar, apple juice, and 1 Tbsp. half and half in a large bowl and beat until well blended. Add additional half and half as needed to reach a good spreading consistency, then beat in vanilla. Use this frosting to fill and frost 9" layer cake.
