  1. 2 cups A. P. flour

  2. 1 teaspoon Salt

  3. 2 teaspoons Baking powder

  4. teaspoon Soda

  5. 4 tablespoons Shortening

  6. 1 cup Buttermilk

  1. Sift flour with soda, salt and baking powder. Mix in the shortening with fingertips. Add buttermilk and stir. Mix all into a soft dough.

  2. Using a spoon, drop pieces of the dough about the size of a walnut onto a greased baking sheet. Leave 2 inches between each.

  3. Bake in a preheated 400 F. oven for 10 min., or until browned.
