  1. Lentil and Barley Stew

  3. 2 oz pot barley

  4. 2 carrots finely sliced

  5. 1 medium onion, sliced

  6. 1 small tin tomatoes (250g/8 oz)

  7. 1 pint vegetable stock

  8. 1 1/2 dessertspoons hot paprika

  9. 1 dessertspoon miso or yeast extract

  10. 2 oz self raising flour

  11. 1 oz vegetable suet

  12. pinch of salt

  13. 1 teaspoon mixed herbs

  14. water to mix

  15. Put all ingredients into a casserole dish except the miso or yeast

  16. 350 degrees fahrenheit for 1 1/2 hours
