  1. 2 beef top sirloin steaks (6 ounces each )

  2. 1/8 teaspoon salt

  3. 1/8 teaspoon pepper SAUCE:

  4. 1/2 cup jarred sliced mushrooms

  5. 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic

  6. 1/2 teaspoon canola oil

  7. 1/4 cup French onion dip

  8. 1 tablespoon half-and-half cream

  9. 1/4 teaspoon minced chives

  10. 1/8 teaspoon pepper

  1. Sprinkle steaks with salt and pepper. Grill steaks, covered, over medium heat or broil 4 in. from heat for 5-7 minutes on each side or until meat reaches desired doneness (for medium-rare, a meat thermometer should read 145°; medium, 160°; well-done, 170°). In a small skillet, saute mushrooms in oil for 3 minutes. Add garlic; cook 1 minute longer. Stir in the onion dip, cream, chives and pepper. Bring to a gentle boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 2-3 minutes or until heated through. Serve with steaks. Yield: 2 servings.
