  1. 1 3/4 cups 109g / 3.8oz Flour

  2. 1/3 cup 65g / 2 1/3oz Sugar

  3. 2 teaspoons 10ml Baking powder

  4. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml Cinnamon

  5. 1/4 teaspoon 1 1/3ml Salt

  6. 1/4 teaspoon 1 1/3ml Nutmeg

  7. 1/8 teaspoon 0.6ml Allspice

  8. 1/8 teaspoon 0.6ml Ginger

  9. 1 Egg - lightly beaten

  10. 3/4 cup 177ml Milk

  11. 1/4 cup 59ml Vegetable oil

  12. 1/2 cup 99g / 3 1/2oz Thick apple butter

  13. Topping

  14. 1/2 cup 73g / 2.6oz Crushed pecans or walnuts

  15. 3 tablespoons 45ml Sugar

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

  2. In a medium bowl, combine the first eight ingredients.

  3. Combine egg, milk and oil; stir into dry ingredients just until moistened.

  4. Fill greased or paper-lined muffin cups with a rounded tablespoon of batter. Top each with a rounded teaspoon of apple butter top with more batter.

  5. Combine topping ingredients; sprinkle over muffins. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes. Cool in pan 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool.
