  1. 1 cup apricots, softened

  2. 1 cup pitted prunes, softened

  3. 1/4 cup orange juice

  1. Directions : Blend soaked apricots and prunes together. Add orange juice to the mixture and blend well. This jam can be used with toasts, crackers or with peanut butter sandwiches. Fig Smoothie Ingredients : 3 figs, fresh or sun dried 1 medium banana 1 tablespoon honey 1 cup Rice dream (rice based milk substitute) Directions : Combine all the ingredients and blend well. Drink this smoothie thrice a day, once early in the morning and once after lunch and dinner respectively. This will help in promoting active bowel movements. Last but not the least is water! It is the best cure for constipation . Drinking plenty of water and other fluids aids in the process of digestion and stimulates active bowel movements. This was all about laxatives for children. Although these are all natural laxatives, it is advisable to consult with a qualified health care professional for appropriate dosage of these laxatives for children.
