  1. 2 cn Dark sweet cherries, pitted,

  2. - drained, reserving syrup

  3. 3/4 c Reserved cherry syrup

  4. 1/4 c Dr. Pepper

  5. 1/8 ts Almond extract

  6. --BATTER MIXTURE --

  7. 1 pk Yellow cake mix

  8. 1 pk Cherry Jello,

  9. 3oz size

  10. 1/2 c Vegetable oil

  11. 3/4 c Dr. Pepper

  12. 4 Eggs

  13. 2 c Minature marshmallows

  14. --JELLO MIXTURE --

  15. -BATTER MIXTURE --

  1. Arrange cherries evenly on bottom of a greased 9 x 13 pan.

  2. Preheat oven to 350~F.

  3. In a small saucepan, combine the cherry syrup, 1 package of cherry jello and 1/4 cup Dr.

  4. Pepper; gently heat until jello is dissolved.

  5. Add almond extract and cool slightly.

  6. In a large mixing bowl, combine yellow cake mix, 1 pack cherry jello, oil, eggs and 3/4 cup Dr.

  7. Pepper.

  8. Beat on high for 3-4 minutes.

  9. Pour cooled jello mixture over cherries in pan.

  10. Sprinkle evenly with the minature marshmallows and then carefully and evenly spoon the batter mix over the marshmallows.

  11. Bake for 40-45 minutes.

  12. Cool on rack for 45 minutes.

  13. Chill 3-4 hours.

  14. This is a self icing cake!!!
