  1. 2 3 lbs tri tip roast

  2. 1 pk Lipton onion soup mix

  3. 1/4 c Water

  4. 3 4 tbls soy sauce

  5. Pepper (generous amounts) Garlic powder (generous -amounts)

  6. 1 1/2 hours or longer. Place on grill, fat side down. Grill first side

  7. 8 minutes, turn and baste. Grill another

  8. 8 minutes. Slice roast into 1-2" thick slices. They will be rare, place back on grill for another

  9. 30 seconds or so each side. Place on warmed plate.

  10. This is the most tender tri tip I have ever tasted. It prompts me to use my propane grill in the middle of winter because it just doesn't do the same under the broiler!! --
