  7. BATTER:

  8. 1 1/4 cups flour

  9. 1 cup sugar

  10. 1/3 cup cocoa

  11. 3/4 teaspoon baking soda

  12. 1/2 teaspoon salt

  13. 1 cup buttermilk -- or sour milk

  14. 1/3 cup oil

  15. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  16. 8 ounces cream cheese

  17. 1/3 cup sugar

  18. 1/8 teaspoon salt

  19. 1 large egg

  20. 1/2 cup miniature chocolate chips

  21. OVEN: 350

  22. Line 24 muffin cups with paper liners.

  23. Combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda and salt in a large mixer bowl.

  24. Add buttermilk, oil, egg, and vanilla; blend well.

  25. FILLING:

  26. Blend cream cheese, sugar, and salt in small mixer bowl.

  27. Add egg; beat til smooth. Stir in mini-chips.

  28. 1/2 full with batter. Spoon about 1 tbsp filling onto each cupcake.

  29. Bake for about 20 minutes or til tops are light golden brown.
