  6. 2 pk Yeast

  7. 1/4 lb Butter

  8. 1 qt Milk

  9. 1/4 lb Vegetable Shortening

  10. 1 c Sugar

  11. 3 1/2 lb Flour

  12. 1 c for flouring boar

  13. 1 1/2 tb Salt

  14. 1 c White Raisins

  15. 4 ea Eggs

  16. Dissolve sugar in milk and heat until lukewarm.

  17. Crumble yeast into milk and let stand. Sift flour and salt into large pot or bowl. Put in eggs, melted

  18. vegetable shortening and butter. Add milk. Work until

  19. all dough is in one bulk, loose from hands and from

  20. sides of pot or bowl. Cover with pot cover or a damp

  21. cloth and set in a warm place to rise. It should be

  22. double in amount in about 2 or 2 1/2 hours.

  23. Take three large balls of dough, the size of

  24. 10 strips

  25. 3 in diameter

  26. 6 high. The temperature should be

  27. 400 deg. for the first

  28. 10 min. and then lowered to

  29. 375 deg. for the next

  30. to 50 minutes. When the Paska is taken from the oven,

  31. spread with melted butter. This will make 4 Paskas. --
