  1. 1 lb 454g / 16oz Beef

  2. 1 lb 454g / 16oz Onion (medium)

  3. 1 Garlic clove

  4. 3 Tomato sauce

  5. 2 tablespoons 30ml - Gerhard chili powder

  6. 2 tablespoons 30ml Ground cumin

  7. 1 teaspoon 5ml Salt

  1. Recipe Instructions Brown beef with onion and garlic. Drain fat. Add remaining ingredients and simmer 20 minutes. (3 or 4 hours is not too long, the longer you simmer the better, however, it smells so good, you can't wait any longer) Stir occasionally. Gerhard's is the ORIGINAL recipe used by the Texas cowhands. Others have tried to duplicate it, to no avail. You can taste the difference.
