  8. 3 ea Green peppers

  9. 1 lb Celery

  10. 1/4 c Salt

  11. 2 ea Sticks cinnamon

  12. 1/2 tb Ground cloves

  13. 1 qt Sm onions, chopped

  14. 1 qt Cider vinegar

  15. Scald, then peel tomatoes; cook 15 minutes. Drain off half juice. Chop

  16. remaining vegetables; add tomatoes; simmer about 90 minutes. Tie spices in

  17. cloth bag. Add bag of spices and remaining ingredients to tomato mixture.

  18. Continue cooking 90 minutes. Remove bag of spices; seal mixture in hot,

  19. sterilized jars. Makes 6 pints. --
