  1. 8 c Cake Flour

  2. 1/4c Baking Powder

  3. 2 1/2c Vegetable Shortening

  4. 6 c Sugar

  5. 1 1/2ts Salt

  1. + Directions : In a large bowl, sift together cake flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Mix well With a pastry blender, cut in shortening until the mixture is as fine as cornmeal. Put in a large airtight container. Label as Basic Cake Mix and store in a cool dry place. Use with 10 to 12 weeks. Makes about 16 cups of mix.
