  1. 1/4 cup margarine or butter

  2. 1/3 cup chopped or sliced almonds

  3. 1/3 cup light-colored corn syrup

  4. 1/3 cup packed brown sugar

  5. 1 tablespoon water

  6. 1/3 cup crisp rice cereal, coarsely crushed

  7. Vanilla ice cream

  1. In a medium skillet melt margarine or butter. Add almonds; cook and stir over medium-low heat about 5 minutes or until browned. Add the corn syrup, brown sugar, and water to skillet. Heat and stir until bubbly and the brown sugar is dissolved (about 4 minutes).

  2. Stir in the rice cereal. Serve immediately over ice cream. Makes about 1 cup (eight 2-tablespoon servings).
