  1. Shrimp (cleaned) 1 lb

  2. Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp

  3. Chili powder 1 tsp

  4. Onions 2 med size (chopped)

  5. Tomato 1 (chopped)

  6. Ginger 1/2 inch (finely chopped)

  7. Garlic 2 cloves (finely chopped)

  8. Green chilies 2 (finely chopped)

  9. Fresh coconut 1/2 cup (grated)

  10. Coriander

  11. Kokam 3-4 pieces

  12. Salt to taste

  1. Clean the shrimp and apply salt, a pinch of turmeric and chili powder.

  2. Take 4 tbsp oil in a pan. When hot, add the onions, ginger, garlic and green chilies – saute the mix.

  3. Add tomatoes and saute well.

  4. Add the shrimp and fry till the shrimp is cooked.

  5. Grind coconut with a little water and add to shrimp. Cook with lid closed.

  6. When curry is well- cooked, add kokam and garnish with coriander leaves.
