  2. 1 2 tablespoons 1 teaspoon 1/4 2 1/4 teaspoon 1 tablespoon 1 teaspoon 1/4 teaspoon 1/4 teaspoon Mackerel, about 300 g, cleaned and cut into steaks

  3. Cooking oil, for deep frying

  4. Garlic, finely chopped

  5. Onion, peeled and finely chopped

  6. Tomatoes, finely chopped

  7. Salt

  8. Fish sauce

  9. Chicken seasoning powder

  10. Sugar

  11. Ground white pepper

  1. Dry fish steaks thoroughly.

  2. Heat oil for deep frying and fry fishuntil golden brown on both sides. Drain and set aside.

  3. In a clean wok, heat 1 tablespoon oil andstir-fry garlic and onion until fragrant.

  4. Add tomatoes and cook for 5 minutes. Addsalt.

  5. Stir in fish sauce, chicken seasoningpowder, sugar, pepper and more salt if necessary.

  6. Pour tomato sauce over fish and serve withsteamed rice.
