  6. 2 oz Golden syrup

  7. 2 oz Butter

  8. 2 oz Flour

  9. 2 oz Caster sugar

  10. 1/2 ts Brandy

  11. 1/2 ts Ground ginger

  12. 450F or Mark

  13. 8. Grease baking sheets. Melt

  14. the butter, syrup and sugar together in a saucepan

  15. over a very gentle heat. Stir in the flour, ground

  16. ginger and the brandy. Beat together for about 5

  17. minutes. Drop small teaspoonsful on to the baking

  18. sheet, spaced well apart. Bake for 5 minutes until

  19. pale golden brown in colour. Roll immediately, while

  20. still hot, around the greased handle of a large wooden

  21. spoon. Set aside to cool. These are delicious filled

  22. with freshly whipped cream.
