  1. 15 ounces sauerkraut, finely chopped; drained and rinsed

  2. 8 ounces cabbage, shredded

  3. 1/2 lb meat, chopped

  4. 3 cloves garlic, minced

  5. 8 ounces mushrooms, chopped pepper CHEESSE AND POTATO FILLING:

  6. 1 heaping cup mashed potatoes

  7. 1 cup dry cottage cheese, drain, then pat dry Salt and pepper to taste Finely chopped chives or onions

  1. SAUERKRAUT AND MEAT FILLING: Fry meat until done and set aside. Mix remaining filling ingredients and fry for 5 minutes. Combine mixture with meat. Cool before filling pierogi. CHEESSE AND POTATO FILLING: Mix together and fill pierogi.
