  1. Old Fashioned Banana Cream Pie

  2. 1 tablespoon sugar

  3. 8 ounces whipping cream

  4. 9-inch baked pie shell

  5. 3 bananas

  6. 2 teaspoons vanilla, divided

  7. 1 tablespoon butter

  8. 2 cups milk

  9. 2 eggs

  10. 1/8 teaspoon salt

  11. 1 1/2 cups sugar

  12. 1/2 cup flour

  13. Combine flour, sugar, salt and eggs in a medium saucepan. Beat with

  14. hand beater or wire whip until well mixed. Add milk gradually and continue beating until smooth. Cook over medium heat until mixture

  15. thickens, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Stir butter and 1

  16. tsp. vanilla into hot mixture. Place in refrigerator. Slice bananas

  17. into cooked pie shell. Remove custard from refrigerator and spoon

  18. over bananas. Whip whipping cream until soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar and whip until stiff. Fold in remaining vanilla. Spread over pie, sealing

  19. edges. Refrigerate and serve very cold.
