  1. 4 Dried mushroom

  2. 1/4 cup 59ml Water

  3. 2 lbs 908g / 32oz Sauerkraut

  4. 1 Apple - peel, core, sliced

  5. 1 cup 237ml -- ¥

  6. 20 Tomatoes

  7. 5 Peppercorns

  8. 1 Bay leaf

  9. 2 cups 292g / 10oz Diced polish sausage

  10. 1 cup 146g / 5.1oz Coarsely chopped bacon

  11. 1 Steamed potatoes

  1. Recipe Instructions Soak the mushrooms in 1/4 cup water for 2 hours. Bring to boil and simmer for 1/2 hour. Slice. Wash the sauerkraut and squeeze it. Add mushrooms and the liquid in which they were cooked. Add the apples, the tomatoes, peppercorns, and bay leaf. Cover and simmer for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Add the meat and the bacon, simmer 1 hour longer. It is best reheated. Serve with steamed potatoes or rye bread.
