  5. MMMMM--FOR THE PIE--

  6. 1 Pie shell,

  7. 9 inch, unbaked

  8. 1/2 ts Cinnamon

  9. 1 ts Lemon juice

  10. 21 oz Cherry pie filling

  11. MMMMM--FOR THE TOPPING--

  12. 1 c Coconut

  13. 1/4 c Sugar

  14. 1/4 c Milk

  15. 1/4 ts Almond extract

  16. 1/2 c Almonds, sliced

  17. 1/8 ts Salt

  18. 1 tb Butter, melted

  19. 1 Egg, beaten

  20. 400F. Roll out pie pastry and place in

  21. 9 inch pie

  22. pan. In large bowl, combine pie filling, cinnamon, salt and lemon

  23. juice. Mix lightly. Spoon into crust-lined pie pan. Bake 20 minutes.

  24. Meanwhile, combine all topping ingredients in medium bowl and mix

  25. until blended. Remove pie from oven after 20 minutes, spread topping

  26. evenly over surface, and return pie to oven. Bake an additional 15 to

  27. 30 minutes, or until crust and topping are golden brown.
