  1. 3 lbs 1362g / 48oz Pole beans - fresh

  2. 5 cups 1185ml Water

  3. Ham hock - 1/2

  4. 2 teaspoons 10ml Salt

  5. 1/4 teaspoon 1 1/3ml Pepper

  1. Remove strings from beans, cutting beans into 2 inch pieces. Wash beans.

  2. Place water and ham hock in a Dutch oven; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 1 hour. Add beans, salt, and pepper; cook 30 minutes or until tender.
