  2. 2 cups Graham flour

  3. 2 cups boiling water

  4. 1 cup cold water

  5. 1 cup dates or figs

  6. Scant teaspoon of salt

  1. Blend the Graham flour with the cold water in the inside sleeve of a double boiler. Add the boiling water and salt and boil until it thickens.

  2. Set in an outer boiler and cook for an hour.

  3. Cut the dates lengthwise into quarters and add them to the mush 10 minutes before serving.

  4. If dried figs are used, they should be steamed first or cooked with the grain.
