  1. 1 cup butter, softened

  2. 1 1/4 cups powdered sugar

  3. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  4. 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

  5. 1/4 teaspoon baking soda Dash salt

  6. 6 ounces sweet chocolate, grated

  7. 1 cup chopped pecans

  1. Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Blend in vanilla. Add dry ingredients; mix well. Stir in chocolate and nuts. Chill dough several hours. Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 250°F (120°C) for 35 to 40 minutes or until firm.
