  1. 1 recipe classic popover master

  2. 3/4 teaspoon chili powder

  3. 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

  4. 1/2 cup extra sharp cheddar cheese -- coarsely grated

  1. Preparation : 1. Follow recipe for classic popovers but before dividing batter among tins whisk chili powder and cayenne into batter.

  2. Divide half of batter among tins. Sprinkle 1/4 cup cheddar over batter in tins, divide remaining batter over top and sprinkle remaining cheddar on top of popovers.

  3. Bake at 375F for 40 minutes, cut slit 1/2 inch long in top, and bake another 10 minutes.
