  2. 1/2 cup 31g / 1.1oz Self-rising flour

  3. 1/2 cup 31g / 1.1oz Onion - finely chopped (small)

  4. 1 Egg - lightly beaten

  5. 1/4 cup 59ml Canned creamed corn, Silver Queen variety

  6. 3/4 cup 177ml Water

  7. 1 1/2 tablespoons 22ml Beer - (to 2) Oil, for deep fryer

  1. Recipe Instructions In a small bowl, combine the cornmeal and flour. Stir in onion, egg and corn. Add water and beer and form into a stiff batter. Heat oil in a deep fryer to 350 degrees. Shape batter into small balls using a small ice cream scoop. Fry in single-layer batches in hot oil until golden brown, about 2 minutes. Serve hot. This recipe yields about 24.
