  1. These cut-out cookies containing chocolate chips will make everyone's St. Patrick's Day special. Decorate them with green icing and sprinkles.

  2. 1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened

  3. 1/2 cup packed brown sugar

  4. 1/3 cup granulated sugar

  5. 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  6. 1/2 teaspoon salt

  7. 1 large egg yolk

  8. 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  9. 2 cups (12-oz. pkg) NESTL

  10. 1 container (16 ozs) prepared vanilla frosting, colored green if desired

  11. Green coarse sugar or candies

  12. 2 round discs; wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for about 1 hour or until firm.

  13. PREHEAT oven to 350 F.

  14. ROLL each disc to 1/4-inch thickness between two sheets of waxed paper. Cut into shamrock shapes; place on ungreased baking sheets.

  15. 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely. Spread with frosting; sprinkle with coarse sugar.

  16. Makes about 3 dozen cookies
