  1. 2 teaspoons 10ml Butter

  2. 3/4 lb 340g / 11oz Ground beef

  3. 1/4 lb 113g / 4oz Ground pork

  4. 1 cup 62g / 2 1/5oz Minced onions

  5. 1/2 cup 46g / 1.6oz Minced green peppers

  6. 1 tablespoon 15ml Chopped garlic

  7. 2 Eggs

  8. 1/2 cup 118ml Heavy cream

  9. 3/4 cup 109g / 3.8oz Bread crumbs - (to 1 cup)

  10. Salt - to taste

  11. Freshly-ground black pepper - to taste

  12. 2 cups 474ml Veal stock

  13. 2 tablespoons 30ml Flour

  14. 2 tablespoons 30ml Water

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease a roasting pan with the butter.

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine beef, pork, onions, peppers, garlic, eggs, cream, and bread crumbs. Blend thoroughly. Season the mixture with salt and pepper. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place on the prepared pan. Pour the stock over the top and place in the oven. Bake for about 1 to 1 1/2 hours, basting occasionally. Remove the pan from the oven. Using a long spatula, remove the meat loaf from the pan.

  3. Place the roasting pan on the stove, over high heat. In a small bowl, whisk the flour with 2 tablespoons water. Whisk the slurry into the gravy. Bring the liquid to a boil and cook for few minutes, stirring constantly. Season the gravy with salt and pepper.

  4. Slice the meatloaf in to 8 pieces. Serve two slices of meat loaf per person with a spoonful of gravy.
