  2. 8 in. pastry shell

  3. 1/2 cup of butter

  4. 1 cup white sugar

  5. 1 cup heavy whipping cream

  6. 1/2 cup milk

  7. 1/4 cup cornstarch

  8. 1/4 tsp. groud nutmeg

  1. Preheat oven to 400° 2. In the top of a double boiler, combine butter, sugar, ½ cup whole milk and cream. Heat until butter is melted and mixture is simmering, stirring occasionally.

  2. In a small bowl, combine ½ cup whole milk and cornstarch. Whisk until smooth, then slowly pour into hot mixture, whisking constantly. Simmer mixture until thickened, about 5 min. stirring constantly. Pour into baked pastry shell and sprinkle with ground nutmeg.

  3. Bake in preheated oven for 5 min. Allow to cool before serving.
