  1. 2 tbsp oil

  2. 1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)

  3. 1 1/2 cups chopped onions

  4. 2 1/2 tbsp chopped ginger (adrak)

  5. 1 tsp chopped green chillies

  6. 1 tsp coriander (dhania) powder

  7. 1 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)

  8. salt to taste

  9. 3/4 cup chopped tomatoes

  10. 1 tsp chilli powder

  11. 300 gms quartered mushrooms (khumbh)

  12. 1 tsp garam masala

  13. For The Garnish

  14. 1 tbsp chopped coriander (dhania)

  1. Heat the oil in a kadhai and add the cumin seeds.

  2. When the seeds crackle, add the onions and sauté till it turns to light golden brown.

  3. Add the ginger, green chilies, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt and cook for one minute.

  4. Add the tomatoes and red chili powder and cook till oil leaves the masala.

  5. Add the mushrooms, mix well, cover and cook for another 10 minutes on a medium flame.

  6. Open the lid and add the garam masala and cook for 5 minutes on a high flame.

  7. Serve hot garnished with coriander.
