  8. 1 Package Yeast; Dry -- Active

  9. 1/4 Cup Butter or Margarine

  10. 1/2 Teaspoon Salt

  11. 1/2 Cup Milk

  12. 4 Tablespoon Sugar

  13. 1 Egg -- Large

  14. 2 Cup Flour; Unbleached -- Unsifted

  15. --FILLING--

  16. 3 c Apples; Tart, Sliced

  17. 2 tb Flour; Unbleached

  18. 1 tb Lemon

  19. 8 oz Cream Cheese; Softened

  20. 1 ts Cinnamon

  21. 1 Egg; Large

  22. 3/4 c Sugar CAKE:

  23. 4 T sugar, and 3/4 cup flour. Add butter to milk. Heat until

  24. 120-130 degrees F.

  25. 2 minutes. Add egg and 1/2 cup flour. Beat with an electric mixer on high

  26. 2 minutes. Mix in enough flour to form a soft dough. Knead for 5 to

  27. 10 minutes, until dough is shiny and elastic.

  28. Place in greased bowl and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in bulk.

  29. 10-inch springform pan pressing the dough

  30. inches up the sides of the pan.

  31. FILLING:

  32. 1/4 cup sugar, and 2 T of flour.

  33. Arrange in rows on top of the dough. Beat together cream cheese, 1/2 cup

  34. sugar, and egg. Spread over apples. Let rise in warm place for 1 hour.

  35. 350 degrees F. for 30 minutes. Best when served warm. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
