  4. 10 can Red kidney beans - drained

  5. 6 lbs 2724g / 96oz Lean ground beef

  6. 2 lbs 908g / 32oz Onion - chopped (large)

  7. 1/2 cup 118ml Chili powder - or more to taste

  8. 3 tablespoons 45ml Oregano leaves - whole Freshly-ground black pepper - to taste Salt - to taste Toppings Cheddar cheese - grated Sour cream Onion - diced

  1. Recipe Instructions In a large pot bring the tomato puree and whole tomatoes to a slow boil. While this is heating, brown the ground beef with chopped onion. Add this to the tomato mixture. Add chili powder and simmer for 1 hour. Add oregano, salt and pepper to taste and simmer for another 15 minutes. Add kidney beans and simmer 30 minutes longer. Serve in a bowl with Cheddar cheese on top and a dollop of sour cream placed in the center. Diced onions complete the garnish.
