  1. 1 cup butter or margarine, room temp

  2. 8 oz unsweetened chocolate

  3. 6 egg s

  4. 3 cups granulated sugar

  5. 1/2 cup dark corn syrup

  6. 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  7. 1 Tbsp vanilla extract

  8. 1 1/2 - 2 cups chopped walnut s (I add a lot!)

  9. 2 recipes Fudge Frosting, if desired, or powdered sugar Fudge Frosting:

  10. 1/2 cup sugar

  11. 1 Tbsp cornstarch

  12. 2 oz unsweetened chocolate (broken)

  13. 1/2 cup milk

  14. 1 1/2 Tbsp butter

  15. 1/2 tsp vanilla pinch of salt

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour or line a 15 x 10" jelly-rol pan with foil. In a medium saucepan, combine butter or margarine and chocolate. Heat over low heat until melted and smooth, stirring occasionally, cool. In a large bowl, beat together eggs and granulated sugar. Beat in cooled chocolate mixture. Add corn syrup, flour and vanilla, beating until well blended. Stir in walnuts. Spread evenly in greased or foil-lined jelly-roll pan. Bake 25-30 minutes. Do not overbake. Brownies should be moist in the center. Cool in pan. To prepare Fudge Frosting - In a small saucepan combine sugar and cornstarch. Add chocolate and salt. Stir in milk. Cook over medium heat until mixture is smooth, boils, and thickens stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Stir in butter and vanilla until butter melts. Spread Fudge Frosting evenly over top of cooled brownies. Or, sift powdered sugar over top. Cut cooled brownies into squares.
