    1. Ingredients for Butterscotch Pie

    2. 1 egg

    3. 1 cupful dark brown sugar

    4. 1 cupful milk

    5. 3 tablespoonfuls flour

    6. 2 tablespoonfuls Crisco

    7. 3 tablespoonfuls water

    8. 1/4 teaspoonful salt

    9. 1 tablespoonfuls powdered sugar

    10. 1 baked crust

    11. 1 teaspoonful vanilla extract

    1. Instructions Put yolk of egg into saucepan, add brown sugar, flour, milk, water, Crisco, salt, and vanilla.

    2. Stir over fire until it thickens and comes to boiling point.

    3. Pour into baked pie shell.

    4. Beat up white of egg, then beat powdered sugar into it.

    5. Spread on top of pie and brow lightly in oven.

    6. Sufficient for one pie.
