  1. 6-8 tart apples (pared, cored & thinly sliced)

  3. 3/4-1 c. sugar

  4. 4 tbsp. all-purpose flour

  5. 1/2-1 tsp. ground cinnamon

  6. Dash ground nutmeg

  7. Dash salt

  8. 2 crust

  9. 9 pie

  1. If apples lack tartness, sprinkle with about 1 tablespoon lemon juice. Combine sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Mix with apples. Line 9 inch pie plate with pastry. Fill with apple mixture. Dot with butter. Adjust top crust, cutting slits for escaping of steam, seal and flute edges. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake in 400 degree oven for 50 minutes. This recipe is nearly fool-proof.
