  1. 1/4 cup(s) butter

  2. 1 cup(s) diced onion

  3. 1 1/2 pound(s) lean ground beef

  4. 1 splash(es) Salt and Freshly ground pepper , to taste

  5. 1/4 teaspoon(s) ground savory

  6. 1 cup(s) brown gravy

  7. 2 cup(s) mashed potatoes

  8. splash(es) additional butter

  1. Heat 1/4 cup butter in 9in skillet.

  2. Add onion and cook until lightly browned, stirring.

  3. Add beef, salt, pepper and savory and continue cooking 5 mins longer.

  4. Stir in gravy and heat until bubbling.

  5. Spoon into a buttered 8-cup flat casserole dish.

  6. Top meat mixture with mashed potatoes. Dot with pieces of butter. Bake at 400F for 15-20 mins or until potatoes are lightly browned.
